Almarita McGlown

Almarita McGlown Almarita McGlown, 86, of Piggott, Ark., passed away from pneumonia November 5, 2023, at Piggott Community Hospital. She was surrounded by family as she was reunited with Jesus and her loved ones that have passed on.

IT HAPPENED HERE YEARS AGO….

1983 A new library is on the drawing board for Piggott. The new building which will be located on Main Street just west of the Post Office, will contain 5,180 square feet.

DHS Christmas project underway

The Clay County Department of Human Services is now accepting applications from families for their annual Christmas assistance project. Applications will be accepted through Thursday, Nov. 30, at the DHS office in Piggott or at 1st Choice Healthcare in Corning.

ADH partnering with Ark. Foodbank Network

TheArkansas Department of Health (ADH) Office of Oral Health is partnering with theArkansas Foodbank Network to provide more than 5,000 oral health kits to Arkansans in need. The oral health kits, which include toothbrushes, toothpaste, and floss, will be available to the Foodbank’s member organizations beginning this fall.
