Terry Lee Bracken, 59 passed away at his home on September 16, 2023. Terry was born on October 8, 1963, to proud parents Billy and Betty (Householder) Bracken in Paragould, Arkansas.
Charles Wesley Grimes, 94, of Rector, passed away on September 27, 2023, at the Flo and Phil Jones Hospice House. He was born in Guy, Ark., to the late Vernon and Floy (Montgomery) Grimes.

The Three Rivers College Championship College Rodeo, presented by Farm Credit Southeast Missouri, will be held Oct. 5-7. The event, co-hosted by the Sikeston Jaycees, will be held at the Art Saunders Arena at the Sikeston Jaycee Bootheel Rodeo grounds.
Black River Area Development Corporation has announced the Summer Entergy Assistance Program will close Friday, Sept. 29, 2023. Program coordinators report applications for Summer Energy Assistance will be accepted from 9 a.m. to noon, and from 1 to 3 p.m. on Mondays and Tuesdays. In turn, the applications will be processed until it appears the funds have been fully depleted.
