New Hope Baptist Church in Pollard invites all kids to their VBS which kicked-off on Wednesday, June 4. Those attending will enjoy a night of worship, free food, games, and a fun way to kick-off the summer with vacation bible school. Vacation Bible School will continue each Wednesday night through July 16. Those attending will be served a meal at 5:30 p.m. with VBS to follow. This year’s theme is “Magnified!” as those attending will discover the bigness of God in the smallest of things. The annual Pollard Picnic, to benefit the New Hope Cemetery, will be held Saturday, July 12, in Pollard. As usual, this year’s picnic will include a full schedule of beauty pageants for contestants of all ages.

Once again this year, both the Piggott and Rector School Districts are taking part in the USDA Summer Feeding program. Under the federally-funded effort, all those under the age of 18 are provided free meals at local schools. The meals are the same for all children regardless of family income, race, color, national origin, sex, age or disability. No registration is required for those attending.
