PHS class of 1968 get-together set

The Piggott High School class of 1968 will hold a get-together from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Thursday, July 3, at the Piggott Diner. The event is casual attire and buffet will be available for purchase for those attending. “We look forward to seeing you there,” commented a class member.

Clay County 4-H YLC scholarships awarded

Each year, Clay County Extension offers a 4-H Youth Leadership Citizenship Program for high school juniors in cooperation with local schools and sponsors. Kayleigh Drum, Charlie Latta, and Emma Holmes were the recipients of the 2024 Clay County Youth Leadership Citizenship Team Scholarships and received scholarships this year as 2025 graduating seniors.

Mary’s Chapel Cemetery meeting slated

The annual Mary’s Chapel Cemetery meeting will be held at 2 p.m. on Sunday, June 8, in the conference room of the Rector Community Center. Anyone with ties to the cemetery is urged to attend and help support the cemetery. French, third generation doctor in Duckworth family

Hillary French, a 2009 graduate of Piggott High School, graduated from Arkansas College of Osteopathic Medicine on May 17, 2025 with plans to practice in Piggott at the end of her residency at UAMS North Central Regional Campus-Batesville. French did her masters in 2020 and graduated from Arkansas Colleges of Health Education in Fort Smith in 2021 and began medical school in July of 2021.

Marvin C. Foster

Marvin C. Foster Marvin C. Foster was born June 11, 1941 in Clay County. He passed away May 21, 2025 in Port St. Lucie, Florida at his home with his wife at his side.
