Once again this year, both the Piggott and Rector School Districts are taking part in the USDA Summer Feeding program. Under the federally- funded effort, all those under the age of 18 are provided free meals at local schools. The meals are the same for all children regardless of family income, race, color, national origin, sex, age or disability. No registration is required for those attending.

TheArkansas Farm Family of the Year Program has honored agricultural families across the state for 78 years. This year, the program has selected Casey and Jade Simpson of Rector as the recipient of the 2025 Clay County Farm Family of the Year award.
Rector High School has been named the top-performing school in Arkansas in the 2025 Intuit Hour of Finance Challenge – a national initiative that engages middle and high school students in building essential financial literacy skills through interactive activities with real-world scenarios – in celebration of April’s Financial Literacy Month.
Piggott Parks and Recreation announces that the Piggott Public Pool will open on Wednesday, May 28. Hours are 1 to 5:30 p.m. daily. Gate fee is $4.00 and children under the age of two will be admitted free. Single and group passes are available as well as swim lessons and adult swim.
