RIGDON CELEBRATES 92ND BIRTHDAY
The Rector High School graduation program was encapsulated by the Valedictorian, Emma Holmes, and the Salutatorian, Austin Simmons, in their addresses on Sunday afternoon, May 4, in the Rector gymnasium. Both graduates gave accolades to the entire Rector community along with their parents, teachers, and fellow students for contributions to a special Graduation Day.
Part 3: A Corrupt Election. Killing Clayton is a limited weekly column about a corrupt election, the assassination of possible Clay County namesake John Clayton, and the shadow it cast on Arkansas history.
PES MARCH READERS OF THE MONTH
Rector’s Jeremy McDaniel Sports Complex is ready for the summer season with the purchase and installation of two new scoreboards, one located on the “small softball field” and the other located on the Little League field, each ready for league play. The two senior high fields and boards are maintained by RHS for use of the Cougars Baseball team and the Lady Cougars Softball team. Centennial Bank and Greenbrier were generous in meeting the requests from the Sports Complex Commission through applications for grants that impact the entire community.
The Hemingway-Pfeiffer Museum and Educational Center (HPMEC) has named author Snowden Wright of Yazoo City, Mississippi, as the writerin-residence for the summer.
