The Mohawk track and field teams had an outstanding performance at the
Hamlets Service EHC will be offering an afternoon of Bingo beginning at 2 p.m. on Saturday, May 10. The event is being held at the First General Baptist Church in Piggott located at 679 S. Taylor Ave. Admission is $10 and includes one card. Additional cards will be available for $1 each. Those wanting to play must be 18 years of age or older.
Enrollment is now open for BRAD (Black River Area Development) Head Start/Early Head Start child development programs in Piggott.
On Tuesday, April 22, members of the Rector 4-H Club celebrated Earth Day by helping clean up the local park and baseball fields. Armed with trash bags and gloves, the group worked together to pick up litter and make the community spaces more enjoyable for everyone.
With a sound that rivaled the memorable Everly Brothers, Ryan Hartness and Ryan Fisher took the Ford Room stage on Friday night, April 25, and brought down the house. A truly All-Star band led by bass guitarist Gary Cremeens and punctuated by lead guitarist and crowd favorite Steve Goins, the band provided the instrumentals for memories that had patrons ready to dance out of their seats. That drum beat laid down by Jim Howard replicated the signature for Mitch Ryder’s Detroit Wheels’ Devil with the Blue Dress and the Statler Brothers’ Flowers on the Wall. The drum solos rattled the floor and shook the windows.
Marmaduke High School will host graduation ceremonies for the class of 2025 beginning at 10 a.m. on Saturday, May 10. Forty-seven seniors are scheduled to take part in commencement, and begin a new chapter in life.
