WINSCOTT RECOGNIZED
The University of Central Arkansas will hold spring commencement on Thursday and Friday, May 1 and May 2, 2025. All ceremonies will be held at the Farris Center and will be livestreamed.
The City of Piggott will be hosting a cornhole tournament at 10 a.m. Saturday, April 26. at the Piggott Community Center. Those interested may call 870-598-2003 or email acrittenden@cityofpiggott.org. Sign-up fee is $45 per team with a 60/40 payout. A food truck will also be available during the event.
The Arkansas State University student body elected Jake Williams as the 2025-2026 Student Government Association (SGA) president and running mate Kate Malone as vice president.

The senior Rector Lady Cougars were recognized prior to Thursday night’s game against the BIC Lady Mustangs. Seniors honored included Libby Green, daughter of Brad Green and April Green and Alejandra DeJesus, foreign exchange student of host parents Adam and Bridgette Branson.
Senior night was held Thursday, April 18 in Rector prior to the game against the BIC Mustangs. Seniors honored included Hayden Vavak, son of Mark and Jamie Vavak, Kolton Watson, son of Brian and Tonya Watson, Cash Lindsey, son of Michael and April Lindsey and Parker Sanders, son of Nathan and Cindy Sanders. Not present was Koden Tucker, son of Perry and Kay Tucker.

Piggott Area Chamber of Commerce has been approved to host Bingo, which will be held the first Monday of each month beginning May 5 at the Piggott Community Center located at 161 E. Pfeiffer Street. Doors will open at 6 p.m. with games beginning at 6:30 p.m. Cash prizes are available and you must be 18 years of age or older to play.
