Sue Romine, a beacon of love and kindness, lost her long and courageous battle with cancer. She passed from this life on the dawn of March 28, 2025, at her home with her loving family by her side, closing a chapter of a life well-lived and profoundly impactful. Born on January 1, 1943, in the Finch Community, Sue grew up on a small farm nurtured by her loving parents, the late Hill and Adella (Taylor) Smith, along with her siblings, whose bonds remained a sustaining force throughout her life.
A Piggott man was arrested on multiple charges after a deputy came in contact with the subject walking on Heritage Park Road, according to the Clay County Sheriff’s Department.

Rector Area Chamber of Commerce Banquet will be headlined by Tim Ingram, former Rector resident and Rector Class of 1986 member, currently General Manager of Nexstar, a broadcast and digital operation in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. Except for the brief hours at his birth in Kennett, Missouri, Ingram claims to have been a life-long resident of Rector until employment in radio and television took him on the road. His parents, the late Bob and Peggy Ingram, were integral in Rector as Bob was associated with Mitchell Funeral Home and Peggy assisted him and owned a flower shop.
Tuesday, April 1, the Piggott School Board met in special session with all board members present. First on the agenda was discussion of Bailey Professional Development with the school board voting to approve.
Piggott Health System held a ribbon cutting and open house at their new home health office in Kennett on Tuesday, March 25. The office, Piggott Health System Southeast Missouri Home Health, is a branch of the Campbell Health agency in Campbell. The Campbell office will change their name to Piggott Health System Southeast Missouri Home Health.
