Feb. 1 was National Unclaimed Property Day, and as your state auditor and Arkansas’ unclaimed property administrator, my job is to return people their missing money as it is reported to my office.
Submissions are now open for the 2025 “Wildlife of Arkansas” student art contest. This contest is free and open to all Arkansas youth in grades K-12. This is an excellent opportunity or young artists to explore the wonder and beauty of Arkansas’ native wildlife, wildflowers and landscapes through their creativity and skill. The Arkansas Small Business Technology Development Center (ASBTDC) will offer an opportunity for future business owners to learn about starting a business at a seminar on Tuesday, Feb. 11. “Starting a Business in Arkansas,” will take place from 1 until 2:30 p.m. at the Delta Center for Economic Development. The class will be held in room 201 of the Delta Center, located at 319 University Loop on campus at Arkansas State University.
The Rector High School Sports Hall of Fame will recognize the 2024 inductees on Friday, Friday, Feb. 7, during the Rector Cougars and EPC Warriors game.
Piggott High School Seniors participated in the “Get Real” program Thursday, Jan. 30, 2025, provided by Clay County Cooperative Extension FCS Agent Christin Holmes. The program is a hands-on experiential simulation that teaches young people about personal financial management.
