Students in the Piggott School District returned to classes today, Wednesday, Aug. 16. As usual, teachers, parents and students alike have been busy prepping for the first day of school, obtaining school supplies and decorations for classrooms, for the new school year. An open house for both campuses was held Monday, Aug. 14.

Carl P. “Buster” Hitt, born and raised in Piggott, Ark., just released his first novel, “Sarah: A Young Girl’s Struggle to Reunite her Family,” set in the Piggott area in 1954.
The Hemingway- Pfeiffer Museum is now hosting Series 3 of The Veneto of Ernest Hemingway; Across the River into the Trees. The exhibit is comprised of beautiful black and white panels. This exhibit may be in the new exhibit room on the second floor in the museum and will be on display through August.
