RIBBON CUTTING IN PIGGOTT

Piggott Area Chamber of Commerce held a ribbon cutting at noon on Thursday, June 30 for Malin Furniture and The Treasure Chest, owned by Gerald and Kelli Malin (center). The store is newly remodeled and houses both businesses. Store hours for Malin Furniture are 8 a.m. until 5 p.m. Monday through Friday and 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. on Saturday. Treasure Chest hours are 9 a.m until 5 p.m. M-F and 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. on Saturday. Members of the chamber, employees and friends were on hand to show their support. (TD photo/ Gayla Johnson)

Annual Greenway School reunion scheduled Aug. 5

The annual Greenway School reunion will be held beginning at 4:30 p.m. on Friday, Aug. 5, at the Piggott Diner. Organizers encourage all former students to attend, and noted the event will be Dutch Treat. Those wanting information may contact Jane Cook at 870-324-0236.

Pageant schedule announced for Pollard Picnic

There is still time to prepare for the Pollard Beauty Pageants which will be held Saturday, July 9 at the Pollard Picnic in Pollard, Ark. The pageant committee announces the following events: Beginning at 10 a.m.

Lowell Delain McKenney

Lowell Delain McKenney, 79 of Rector, passed peacefully from this life to forever be in the presence of Jesus on Sunday July 3, 2022, at his residence. He was born on November 11, 1942 in Pollard, Arkansas to the late Frank and Opal Permenter McKenney.

Paul Bishop

Paul Bishop, 85 of Rector, Ark., passed away at his residence on June 23, 2022. He loved his family and spending time outside working in his yard and garden. He was a member of Antioch Baptist Church where he enjoyed singing hymns.

Terry Allen Pratt

Terry Allen Pratt, 65 of Jonesboro, Ark., passed from his earthly home on Thursday June 30, 2022, at his home. Terry was born in Paragould on December 8, 1956, to his loving parents Tom and Margaret Crain Pratt.
