New Hope Baptist Church invites all kids to their Spark Studios VBS kickoff from 10 a.m. until noon on Saturday, June 11 at Pollard City Park. Prepare to spark imagination and kick creativity into high gear. Kids will learn how they are created in Christ and designed for God’s purpose. Those attending will enjoy free food, games, sno-cones, face painting and fun for the whole family. Pollard City Park is located at 690 Hwy. 62, Pollard. Applications to BRTC’s Practical Nursing Evening Program are now open. This is a ten and a half month program that will begin on August 15, 2022 and end on June 30, 2023. The program will be held on the Pocahontas campus Monday-Friday.
Dorothy “Dottie” Anne Glasgow, 76, passed from this walk of life on May 30, 2022, at her home. Dottie was born on July 26, 1945, in Cleveland, Ohio, to parents, George and Elizabeth Anne (Hanthorne) Becks.

Roger Lynn Todd, 60, of Paragould, passed away on Monday, May 30, 2022, at 11:45 a.m. He was born January 21, 1962, to Robert and Barbara Todd.
On Sunday afternoon at 2 p.m., Woodland Heights Cemetery Board hosted the annual Memorial Day Remembrance service. Led by VFW Commander Jon Bradshaw and Cemetery Board Secretary Cheri Boyd, the crowd listened to music and remarks, speaking together of the need to focus on those military men and women who lost their lives in service to America. The first song played in tribute to the memory of the deceased veterans was Lee Greenwood’s “God Bless the USA.”
Wrestling is coming to Piggott! The PHS FCCLA have teamed up with Spoke N Word Christian Motorcycle Association to present the championship wrestling event as a fundraiser to help send four of their members to the 2022 National STAR (Students Taking Action with Recognition) events competition in San Diego, Calif. Among the four attending are Emma Riddle and Haley Hanners – Chapter in Review; Chloe Sexton – Sustainability and Tamia Davis – Early Childhood.

Piggott fifth and sixth grade PACE students competed in the Project Fair, sponsored by the Northeast Arkansas Education Cooperative on May 16. The students researched a topic of interest and presented their project to a panel of judges. The students were scored on research and organization, creativity, interview and overall project.
