Shirley Kay (Brawner) Knuckles We are sad to announce the passing of Shirley Kay (Brawner) Knuckles, 86. Shirley passed peacefully from this life to the next July 17, 2023, at Jamestown Nursing and Rehab, in Rogers, Ark.

Registration planned at Rector High School

Rector High School will host student registration for the upcoming school year on July 31 and Aug. 1 and 2. Registration for seniors will be conducted from 8 to 11 a.m. on Monday, July 31, with juniors registering from 12 to 3 p.m. that day. The schedule on Tuesday, Aug. 1, includes sophomores from 8 to 11 a.m. while freshmen will register from 12 to 3 p.m. The final day of registration will be Wednesday, Aug. 2, with eighth graders registering from 8 to 11 a.m. while seventh graders will register from 12 to 3 p.m. All of the registrations will be held at Rector High School.

Piggott Health System garners national attention

Piggott Community Hospital has utilized TelePulmonology since the midst of the COVID pandemic and had such great success with the program that TeleCardiology was added to the services last year to further enhance specialty care for hospitalized patients. PCH offers this by contracting with the nation’s leading multispecialty telemedicine group, Access TeleCare.

Peggy Lucille McElmeel Peggy Lucille McElmeel passed away on the afternoon of Wednesday, July 19, 2023, at the age of 76 years in Omaha, Nebraska. She was born August 8, 1944 in Piggott, Ark.

Greenway School reunion set for Aug. 4

The annual Greenway School reunion will be held beginning at 4 p.m. on Friday, Aug. 4, at the Piggott Diner. Organizers encourage all former students to attend. Those wanting information may contact Jane Cook at 870 324-0236.
