OHP rebrands as Vendor’s Market at OHP

From opening until closing time on Saturday, July 22, the Vendor’s Market at Our Happy Place (OHP) filled with customers, vendors, and well-wishers, many walking away with vendor-gifted door prizes. Excitement was kindled by Kendra Street’s permanent jewelry booth set up from 11 a.m. until 3 p.m. on Saturday.

Clay County Junior Fair Board to host craft show

The Clay County Junior Fair Board will be hosting a craft show from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., Saturday, Aug. 12, at the commercial building on the Clay County Fair-grounds. Vendor fee is set at $35 with community entry fee being a small donation to the Clay County Junior Fair Board Scholarship Fund. Small concessions will be available. Booths available for Clay Co. Fair

The Clay County Fair is set for Sept. 13 to 16, and commercial booths are now available for rental. The booths are indoor, air conditioned and include electrical hook-ups. Rental rates are just $50, which covers the full run of the fair. Those wanting additional information, or to reserve a booth, may contact Barbara Collier at 870 5987311.

Gary Prince and Sugar Creek entertain at Ford Room

In the terminology of the MLB season, the Rector Community Museum Ford Room hit a home run with Gary Prince and Sugar Creek which took the stage Thursday, July 20, for the customary Third Thursday concert series. Prince and the band connected immediately with the audience, the front section being filled with fans and family of the band. Those new fans who heard the group for the first time came away wanting to hear more of the traditional country sound of mellow harmonies and magic guitars, keyboard, and drums.

Greenway School reunion set for Aug. 4

The annual Greenway School reunion will be held beginning at 4 p.m. on Friday, Aug. 4, at the Piggott Diner. Organizers encourage all former students to attend. Those wanting information may contact Jane Cook at 870 324-0236.

Piggott “Backpack Bash” set for Aug. 5

Once again for 2023, members of the Piggott Community Alliance have joined forces to organize “Backpack Bash” for students of Piggott Elementary and Piggott High School. This year’s bash will be held from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m. on Saturday, Aug. 5, on the grounds of the Hemingway-Pfeiffer Museum and the Matilda and Karl Pfeiffer Museum in Piggott.
