Barry Eugene Broadway

Barry Eugene Broadway of Valdosta, Ga., passed away peacefully on October 16, 2023 at his residence. Born on November 11, 1957, Barry was known for his unwavering love of sports and exceptional athletic abilities. Throughout his career as a dedicated cotton seed plant manager for Archer Daniels Midland, he showcased his relentless work ethic and commitment.

Barry accepted Christ as his Savior as a teenager in 1973. He cherished his memories of Hitt’s Chapel and Piggott. He had a remarkable gift of connecting with people and making them feel heard and valued. His genuine interest in others left a lasting impact on those who had the pleasure of crossing paths with him.

Left to cherish his memory and celebrate a life well-lived is Barry’s devoted wife of 42 years, Cheryl Broadway. He was a loving father to his children, Kristin Broadway of Valdosta, Ga., and Emily Wilbanks (Travis) of Crestview, Fla. His grand-children, Kylie Wilbanks, Bailey Wilbanks and Roy Barry Barlow held a special place in his heart. Barry is also survived by his mother, Lois Broadway of Piggott; brother, Rick Broadway (Theresa) of Alma, Ark., and sister, Gayla Book (Mark) of Piggott. His father, Royal Broadway, and brother, Jerry Broadway, preceded him in death.

A memorial service honoring Barry’s life will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, November 24, 2023, at Hitt’s Chapel General Baptist Church in Piggott with Rev. Dr. Rick Broadway and Rev. Mark Book officiating.
