Bill Mayo

Bill Mayo, 96 of Piggott, Ark., entered his heavenly home on Wednesday, November 15, 2023. Bill was preceded in death by his loving and devoted wife of 59 years, Chlodean Eskew Mayo.

Bill was born on March 1, 1927, to Audrey and Ezra Mayo in Pollard, Ark. He served in the United States Navy during World War II. He began a courtship with Chlodean prior to enlisting in the Navy. Lots of love letters were sent during his service and they quickly married on August 30, 1947. To this union, two daughters were born.

At a very young age, Bill gave his life to Christ and was a member of First Baptist Church where he served as a deacon and was instrumental in the audio-television ministry for over 50 years. Bill remained a faithful follower until he was called home. Bill was a television repairman, and in his spare time enjoyed bee keeping, gardening, flying radio controlled airplanes of which he was a member of the club; and was a fixer of all things. If it could be fixed, he would do it.

Bill leaves behind his daughters Dena (Dewayne) McCrillis and Regina (Dudley) Pitts; three grandsons: Christopher (Kyndra) McCrillis, Bryan (Farrah) McDaniel and Erik McDaniel; four great-grandchildren: Kyndsey and Carly McCrillis, Liam and Chloe McDaniel; step sister-in-law: Gwen Duckworth; along with a host of nieces, nephews and lots of friends.

Our beloved hero had a celebration of life on Saturday, November 26, 2023, at Piggott Mortuary in Piggott beginning at 11 a.m. Visitation was held from 10 a.m. until service time at the funeral home. Burial was at Piggott Cemetery.
