Billie Wayne Gentry

Billie Wayne Gentry, 73, of Piggott, Ark., passed away Friday, January 26, 2024.
Bill was born in Poplar Bluff, Mo., September 16, 1950. His parents were Charles and Hazel Gentry.
Bill had a talent for making delicious fudge, and he loved sharing it. He often gave a random bag of fudge to friends for no special reason at all. He also loved hummingbirds and worked to attract them to his yard. He loved to go fishing with Roxanna and his grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents: Charles and Hazel Gentry of Poplar Bluff, Mo.; six sisters: Mary Lavenda Gentry Hopson; Katty Merle Gentry Gordon; Vonda Lee Gentry Barker; Glenda Maxine Gentry Sisk; Geneva Charlene Gentry Taylor; and Vera Kathy Gentry Brannon; and one brother: Otis “Buddy” Gentry and two infant great grandchildren.
His wife Roxanna Gentry passed away two days after his death, on Sunday, January 28, 2024.
Survivors include two daughters; Tahoni Monroe of Mountainburg, Ark., and Karen Persicke of Michigan; one son: Cody Gentry of Piggott; nine grandchildren: Michelle Chapman, Nickolas Baker, Riley Monroe, Shawn Monroe, Waylon Monroe, Lily Babcock, Holly Persicke,Ayden Persicke, and Emma Persicke; one great grandchild: Percival Chapmon; and one sister: Verda Corine Gentry Boruff of Michigan; as well as many other relatives and friends who loved him dearly.
A joint memorial service for Bill and Roxanna has been arranged at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses, 500 Hwy. NN, Poplar Bluff, Mo., on Saturday, February 10, at 3 p.m.
