Bro. James Marvin Jones, age 77, of Benton, passed away December 17, 2023. He was born July 22, 1946 in Nella, Ark., to the late Lennie Marvin Jones and Daisy Laverne Jones. James served as a chaplain in the U. S. Air Force and was the minister at Mt. Olive Baptist Church in Bauxite.

He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Willa June Jones of the home; two sons, Jason W. Jones (Rebecca) of Arkadelphia and Justin W. Jones of the home; daughter, Janee Brandon (Shawn) of Rector; brother, Leonard Wayne Jones (Linda); four grandchildren, Ben Brandon (Catlyn), Michaela Brandon Gracey (Scott), Anderson Jones, and Sullivan Jones; one great-granddaughter, Jaycee Brandon; and dearly loved nieces & nephews.

Pallbearers were Sullivan Jones, Anderson Jones, Ben Brandon, Scott Gracey, Greg Finley, and James Young.

Graveside services were held at 10 a.m. Thursday, December 21 at Sharon Cemetery with Bro. Carl Richey and Bro. Bob Duncan officiating.

Visitation was held from 1 to 2 p.m. Thursday, December 21 at Spring Creek Missionary Baptist Church with a memorial service beginning at 2 p.m. Col. Terry Romine (Ret) and Dr. Terry Parrish officiated.
