Carl Lee Long, 76, of Rector, passed away on December 19, 2023. Carl was born to the late Elmer and Wanda (Duran) Long in Piggott, Ark. He was retired from the National Guard Unit at Rector and was also retired from Emerson Electric. In his spare time, you could find him out fishing or hunting or if the time wasn’t right for that he enjoyed bowling. In his later years he could be seen at the Rector Park sitting in his truck, letting his dog Bandit hang out the window and bark at all the squirrels.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife: Patricia (Dooley) Long and his siblings: Jimmy Long and Patricia Wiley Arnold.

He is survived by his children: Kevin (Amy) Long of Marmaduke and Janie Chipman of Marmaduke; his grandchildren: Drake Long and Nitichia, Landon Long and Maddie, Chance Pace and Kaylee, and Makayla Carter; great-grandchildren: Aubrey Pace, Kye Long and Hudson Long; his siblings: Merl Long & Elsie, Kenneth Long and Shirley, Gary Long, Ricky Long, Glenn Long and Darlene and Tina Ogaard and Michael with a host of other family and special friends.

Visitation was held at 12 p.m. Friday, December 22, 2023, at the Irby-Mitchell Funeral Home in Rector with the service starting at 2 p.m. with Kenneth Hargraves officiating. Interment was at Woodland Heights Cemetery.
