Carol was born in Blytheville, Arkansas, the daughter of Carlos and Billie Faye Gramling. She grew up in Piggott alongside her three siblings, Mary Ann, Debra, and Bruce.
Carol was formerly married to Gary Moody, and together they had three sons: Gary (Bobbi) Moody of Valrico, Florida; Jon (Teresa) Moody of Kansas City, Missouri; and Justin Moody, and his wife Michelle, of Piggott, Arkansas. Justin preceded his mother in death, leaving behind a loving family who remained close to Carol throughout her life.
She later married Darvin Stow and welcomed his three children, Ray (Jill) Stow, Paul Stow, and Darla Stow, who became part of the extended family.
Carol was blessed with nine grandchildren: Blake, Landon, Morgan, Autumn, Carissa, Ashlyn, Mckenna, Brittanie, and Nick. She also had four greatgrandchildren: Carol Stow
Riley, Ransom, Levi, and Ivy, with baby Haven expected in December.
For more than 40 years, Carol devoted herself to the health care field, most of those years at Piggott Community Hospital, where she served as a home health nurse. Her passion was caring for the elderly, ensuring they were treated with dignity and compassion. Even after retirement, she continued providing in-home care, touching countless lives with her kindness.
Carol placed her trust in Christ several years ago and became an active member of Emmanuel Baptist Church in Piggott, Arkansas. She especially enjoyed serving in the AWANA ministry, helping children grow in their walk with Christ. In her later years in Kansas City, even while facing health challenges, Carol faithfully attended Bible study and worship at Tower View Baptist Church for as long as she was able. She cherished the fellowship of dear friends and remained devoted to growing in her faith and honoring Christ.
In addition to her son Justin, she was also preceded in death by her husband, Darvin Stow; her stepdaughter, Darla Stow; her parents; and her sisters, Mary Ann Sootoo and Debra Schleiff.
A memorial service to honor Carol’s life will be held at Emmanuel Baptist Church in Piggott, Arkansas, on Saturday, September 27, at 11 a.m.
