The Piggott City Council met in regular session on Monday, Aug. 25 with council members Jeff Benbrook, Tracy Cole and Jamey Parks present. Mayor Bradley Scheffler was absent.
The Hemingway-Pfeiffer Museum and Educational Center held an informational community meeting on Monday, Aug. 18 regarding the National Heritage Area System. The meeting was held at the Matilda and Karl Pfeiffer Museum.
Prior to the August Quorum Court meeting on Monday, Aug. 18, the Clay County justices and county administration met at 5:30 p.m. at the Black River Trap and Skeet Club where Clay County Extension agents held a fish fry and interpretive event.
The Hemingway-Pfeiffer Museum and Educational Center will hold a poetry workshop in the educational center on Saturday, Nov. 8 with limited seating. Three Clay County 4-H members showcased their talents and determination at the 2025 State 4-H O-Rama held at the University of Arkansas in Fayetteville on July 21 through 24. The four-day event, themed “Clover Quest: A Gathering of Champions,” brought together youth from across the state for competitions, workshops, tours, and fun-filled activities.

On Saturday, July 12, 4-H members from across Clay County came together for one of the most anticipated events of the year—the annual 4-H Pool Party. Held as a way to beat the summer heat and build friendships across club lines, the event brought together members from the Bobcat Club, Piggott Livestock Club, Rector Cougar Club, Tech Changemakers, and the Clay County Leadership group for an evening of fun, laughter, and connection.
