In Arkansas, there are two types of armyworms– true armyworms and fall armyworms. Armyworms are caterpillars, the larval form of moths, according to Dr. David Fernandez, Extension livestock specialist and interim dean of graduate studies for the University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff.
Rector Community Center will be the site for the American Red Cross blood drive from 1:30 to 5:30 p.m., Monday, May 13, located at 740 East 9th Street. As May approaches, the American Red Cross reminds eligible donors to keep the blood supply stable by racing to give blood in the weeks to come.
Organizers report that t-shirts remain on sale for the 25th annual Piggott Heritage Park Car Show and Cruise. Sizes available include youth through adult 4X at the price of $15. The shirts may be purchased at The Piggott Diner or Front Street Flea Market.

Piggott Agri and FFA students are headed to Oklahoma City to compete in the 73rd annual National Land and Range Judging Contest April 30 thru May 2. The land judging is designed to help students develop skills in the field of soil science and how to use these skills in management of soils.
