The Clay County Fair Association will present The Kentucky Headhunters at 7 p.m., Saturday, Sept. 10, at the Clay County Fairgrounds Arena. Special guests will be The Comancheros and Joe Bateman and the Dream Killers will be the opening act. Tickets are $25 and may be purchased by calling 870-598-4524 or 870-598-4376. The fairgrounds are located at 658 East North Street in Piggott at the corner of East North Street and Garfield Avenue.
Arkansas State University Heritage Sites, KASU public radio, and the Mississippi County Hospital System will sponsor the second installment in the summer concert series, “Live from the Cash Porch,” at 4:30 p.m. Saturday, July 16.

The award-winning Young Artists of the Year in Arkansas’ Country Music Award program will perform live at 7 p.m. on Thursday, June 30, at the Ford Room, Rector Community Museum. Tickets for reserved, rows one through four, are priced at $20 with general admission at $10 and $5.
Returning to the Ford Room stage at the Rector Community Museum on Thursday, June 16, at 7 p.m. will be Cory Jackson, popular country artist in and around northeast Arkansas. He was named 2019 “Best Vocalist” in the “Best of Northeast Arkansas” sponsored by the Jonesboro Radio Group.

Life Change Community Church, a non-denomination, community church, will celebrate its ten-year anniversary at 2 p.m. on Sunday, June 12 with renowned Gaither musician Kevin Williams who will perform in concert at the church, free to the public. The church is located a few blocks behind the Exxon/Subway business on Hwy. 49 and 9th Street. The church can be reached with access on the side street between the new Rector Drug and the Subway. Church members encourage the public to join in the celebration.

As they have for decades, members of the Piggott Elementary School fourth grade classes joined forces last week for the annual Youth Power Play. This year’s musical, “From the Inside Out,” was under the direction of counselor Barbara Batey, music teacher Ellen Meadows, and classroom teachers Bridgette Branson, Vickie Brown, Haley Baker and Laura Murray. The students performed twice during the day for the other classes, along with the evening show for family and friends. Afterward, the fourth grade academic rally was held.
