The Clay County Historical Society announced the cover of the upcoming county history book will be a luxurious black leatherette. A gold embossed seal featuring the courthouse will complete the cover.

Piggott Area Chamber of Commerce will host a Lunch and Learn at noon on Wednesday, Aug. 17, at The Piggott Diner. Shaila Creekmore, from Arkansas Single Parent Scholarship Foundation, will be sharing about the program and their work throughout the state. A Beginners Embroidery Workshop has been planned at Powhatan Historic State Park. The event will be held from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 20, and the registration fee is $15. A “Peach Topping Preserves” canning class will be held at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday, Aug. 25 at the Education Center of the Hemingway-Pfeiffer Museum. Class size is limited therefore interested parties should sign up soon. This will be a hands-on class. Attendees will receive a recipe and a jar of the peach preserves to keep.
