100TH BIRTHDAY CELEBRATION PLANNED
Melva Pritchett will celebrate her 100th birthday on Feb. 21. She will be pleased to receive her friends and relatives at a reception on Saturday, Feb. 22 to officially mark this 100 year milestone. The reception will be a drop in affair from noon until 4:30 p.m. at her home at 8880 Hwy. 62 West, Piggott.
Rector Chamber banquet planned April 24
The annual Rector Area Chamber of Commerce banquet, Rector….Always Home, is scheduled for Thursday, April 24 at 6:30 p.m. at the Rector Community Center.
Free childcare provider training being offered

Annual Ryan Rogers Memorial Chili Cook-off and Supper set
The aroma coming from the Crockett Multi-Purpose Room, the sound of familiar chatter among friends, the placement of tasting cups at the contestants’ spots – all part of the Ryan Rogers Memorial Chili Cook-Off to be held Saturday Feb. 22, the last Saturday in February. Doors open at 6 p.m. at the Rector Community Center.
Roberts wins Student’s Choice award at HP art exhibition
Piggott High School student Gracie Roberts received the Student’s Choice award at the recent Hemingway-Pfeiffer XXIII Student Art Exhibition.
HPMEC to celebrate National Quilting Day
In celebration of National Quilting Day set for Saturday, March 15, the Hemingway-Pfeiffer Museum and Educational Center will present a special month-long quilt exhibition.
