In celebration of National Quilting Day set for Saturday, March 15, the Hemingway-Pfeiffer Museum and Educational Center will present a special month-long quilt exhibition. SENATOBIA, MS (01/ 22/2025)— The President’s List for the Fall 2024 semester at Northwest Mississippi Community College was released by college officials. Among those recog-nized were Jackson Hill of Rector and Aaron Mauldin of Piggott.
At the Rector School District’s annual Spelling Bee finals, eighth grader Adalyn Younger received the first place award for spelling “confidential,” “attentive,” and finally, “benediction.” Principal Mark Manchester told the audience that Adalyn reads all the time, having a book “in her hand, under her arm, and in her backpack.”

The Hemingway-Pfeiffer XXIII Student Art Exhibition will be showcased at The Blue Awning Gallery in Piggott with all artwork on display through Jan. 24. The exhibition’s show is scheduled for 11 a.m. Friday, Jan. 24. Cash prizes, courtesy of the Matilda and Karl Pfeiffer Museum, will be awarded to the first, second and third place winners. The public is invited to attend the event.
FAYETTE, MO — The office of Central Methodist University Provost Rita Gulstad announced recently Erica Paige Burns, Mariah Cayleen Hickman-Williams and Lauren Lynae Welch, all of Piggott, were among the students included on the Fall 2024 Dean’s List.
