Rector Area Chamber of Commerce plans annual membership meeting
The Rector Area Chamber of Commerce will host their annual membership meeting from 12 to 1:30 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 15 at the Rector Community Center. Lunch will be catered by Traveling Wisk and will include lasagna, salad, breadsticks and desserts for a cost of $15 per person the day of the meeting.
Tompkins completes USMC basic training
Lawson Tompkins recently completed his 13-week training for the United States Marine Corps in Camp Pendleton in California. Tompkins is a 2024 graduate of Piggott High School and the son of Michael and Lilly Tompkins of Pollard. Tompkins was recently home for leave before returning to a 15-week training after which he hopes to be stationed at Quantico. While home he celebrated his 19th birthday and attended local functions and a Mohawk football game.
Austin Magee assumes duties as Piggott Sonic general manager
Austin Magee has been given the job of general manager effective the first of September. Magee will celebrate six years of employment with Sonic in December.
