A reading retreat is planned for this fall at two of the Arkansas State University Heritage Sites. The retreat will be held at The Historic Dyess Colony: Johnny Cash Boyhood Home and Southern Tenant Farmers Museum.

The annual St. Francis School reunion will be held at 6:30 p.m. on Friday, July 19 at the St. Francis Baptist Church Fellowship Hall. Meal will be potluck with ham and drinks provided. Crowned 2024 National American Miss Arkansas Preteen Maci Brown, the 11-yearold- daughter of Leslie and Steven Brown of Rector, was crowned 2024 National American MissArkansas Preteen at the state pageant held Saturday, June 22 at the Marriott Tulsa Hotel Southern Hills in Tulsa, Okla. Along with receiving her official state crown, banner and trophy, Maci also received a special invitation to compete at the National Pageant held during Thanksgiving week in Orlando, Fla.
