PHS Class of 1974 will celebrate their 50th class reunion on Saturday, Aug. 31, 2024, from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. at the Strawberry Event Center at 107 Main, Holcomb, Mo. The traditional slate of beauty pageants are scheduled in conjunction with this year’s St. Francis Picnic, set for Saturday, July 20, at the picnic grounds in that community.

Parks Cemetery, located 2 miles west of Rector, is in need of donations for the upkeep of the cemetery. “If you have loved ones buried at the cemetery we would appreciate your donation,” commented a spokesperson. Mitchell Cemetery will hold a benefit yard sale from 8 .m. to 3 p.m. Friday, July 12 and Saturday, July 13 in the Greenway Picnic dining hall. All donations will be accepted. Those needing more information may contact Jane Cook at 870-324-0236.

The annual Greenway School reunion will be held beginning at 4:30 p.m. on Friday, Aug. 2, at the Piggott Diner. Organizers encourage all former students to attend. Those wanting additional information may contact Jane Cook at 870-324-0236.

Greenway Picnic planning meetings will be held at 6 p.m. on Friday, July 12, 19 and 26 at the Greenway City Hall. If unable to meet at City Hall, the meetings will be held at the Greenway Church of Christ. All those interested in the picnic, and the Mitchell Cemetery, are invited to attend.

Once again, a full schedule of pageants from birth to 21 and up will accompany the Piggott 4th of July picnic. The first four pageants will be held the evening of July 3, with the remainder being held on July 4. All pageants will be held on the stage at the picnic grounds.
