Fourth of July Pageant schedule

Once again, a full schedule of pageants from birth to 21 and up will accompany the Piggott 4th of July picnic. The first four pageants will be held the evening of July 3, with the remainder being held on July 4. All pageants will be held on the stage at the picnic grounds.

Causey reunion set June 29

The children of Homer and Dora Causey will be hosting a family reunion beginning at 12 noon on Saturday, June 29, at the Pollard Picnic ground. All family and friends are invited to attend. Organizers note a potluck meal will be served.

Clay County YLTC Scholarships awarded

Each year, Clay County Extension offers a 4-H Youth Leadership Citizenship Program for high school juniors in cooperation with local schools and sponsors. Allie Foster, Jasmine James, and Joslin Ward were the recipients of the 2023 Clay County Youth Leadership Citizenship Team Scholarships their junior year and received the scholarships this year as seniors.

Rector Public Library plans Summer Reading Program

The Rector Public Library is geared-up for a busy June and July as the Summer Reading Program returns. This year’s theme is “Adventure Begins at Your Library.” The programs are at 9 a.m. Wednesdays during the month of June and will continue through July 17. The 2024 Summer Reading Program is open to children of all ages, with prizes, drawings, stories, reading logs, and more.

RCM to host tractor show

Joey Pruett, Rector Community Museum director, recently announced that the Farm Room at Rector Community Museum will host a tractor show on Saturday, June 1, from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. with food trucks being on site for the event.
