BRTC announces spring graduation dates

Mitchell Cemetery will hold a benefit yard sale from 8 .m. to 3 p.m. Thursday, May 2 and Friday, May 3 in the Greenway Picnic dining hall. All donations will be accepted. Those needing more information may contact Jane Cook at 870-324-0236.
Liberty Hill Cemetery will host its annual decoration day on Saturday, May 4. A business meeting will start at 11:30 a.m. with a potluck dinner following at noon. Those interested in making a donation to the cemetery may do so at First National Bank or mail to Mike Cook, 853 Castleberry, Piggott, Ark., 72454.
The Piggott Public Library will be offering a free Babysitting Basics course through the Clay County Extension Office from 3:30 to 5 p.m. May 14 through 16.
Black River Technical College’s Law Enforcement Training Academy (LETA) held its Spring 2024-A graduation ceremony on Thursday, April 4 for the 39 officers who completed the Basic Police Training Academy. The Jonesboro Firefighters Pipes and Drums, Korley Martin, played bagpipe as the LETA graduates entered the auditorium.
The Rector School District Gifted and Talented Program is asking for student referrals for students in the second through 11th grades. Referral forms may be picked up and returned to the elementary, high school or superintendent’s office. Referred students should display high intellectual ability, task commitment and/or motivation and creative ability. Rector Elementary will host kindergarten registration from 8:30 a.m. to 2 p.m., Friday, April 19, at the RES main building. Parents will need to provide a copy of their child’s social security card, birth certificate, immunization records, and proof of residence.
The Clay County Library Board will meet at 4 p.m. Tuesday, April 23 at the Rector Public Library for their quarterly meeting.
