Spring Shoppe event planned March 9

Food Bank of Northeast Arkansas receives grant from Farm Credit Mid-American
The Food Bank of Northeast Arkansas was awarded a $25,000 grant by Farm Credit Mid-America to provide fresh produce in the 12 counties served by the Food Bank. The USDA recently named Arkansas as the nation’s most food insecure state with 16.6% of Arkansans reporting low or very low food security.
Ryan Rogers Memorial Chili Cook-off set
The Ryan Rogers Memorial Chili Cook-off and Supper will be held at 6 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 24, at the Rector Community Center with judging starting at 5 p.m. Admission is $5 per person for all-you-care-toeat chili, jambalaya, soup with the fixins’ plus drinks and dessert is always a hit with the public.

Rector FBLA attend conference in Pocahontas
Rector High School FBLA students earned several awards at the District II Spring Conference held in Pocahontas on Friday, Feb. 2. The following award winners have qualified to compete at the state level in April.
Hemingway-Pfeiffer to lead Cuba trip
In celebration of its 25th anniversary, the Hemingway-Pfeiffer Museum and Educational Center (HPMEC) will lead a trip to Cuba this spring. The trip will begin on Saturday, May 25, and continue through Saturday, June 1.

BRTC announces President’s and Dean’s List for fall 2023
Black River Technical College is pleased to announce the students who have been named to the President’s and Deans’ List for the fall semester of 2023.
