The PHS class of 1983 will be holding their 40-year class reunion on Sunday, July 2, 2023, at the Sugar Creek Country Club at 6:30 pm. The cost for attendance is $30.00 per person / $50.00 per couple. The class photo will be taken at 6:45 p.m. sharp! Dinner and live music by Randy Harrington and the Southern Tradition Band will follow. Hotel accommodations at a reduced rate are offered for your personal booking through June 1 at both the Hampton Inn and the Holiday Inn Express in Paragould. Kathleen Mowery and Michael McMurray announce the birth of their son, Wendell Stephen McMurray Mowery. He was born June 20, 2023, at UAMS in Little Rock. He weighed in at one pound. Grandparents are the late Jim and Vera Mowery of Piggott.
Black River Technical College (BRTC) Vice President of Institutional Advancement Dr. Karen P. Liebhaber recently earned a Doctorate of Education in Adult and Lifelong Learning from the University of Arkansas-Fayetteville.
A full schedule of pageants from birth to 21 years and up will once again accompany the Piggott 4th of July picnic. The entry fee will be $30 and registration starts 30 minutes prior to pageant start time and sign up will be behind the stage. Ages birth to four years old will be casual dress with ages five and up being pageant dress.

Students on the Chancellor’s and Dean’s Lists for the spring 2023 semester at Arkansas State University have been announced. The lists recognize undergraduate students who achieved the highest gradepoint averages while completing a minimum of 12 credit hours of study.
New Hope Baptist Church in Pollard continues its Vacation Bible School each Wednesday night through July 19. Those attending will be served a meal at 5:30 p.m. with VBS being held from 6 to 8:15 p.m. This year’s theme is “Twist and Turns” as those attending will spin the spinner, beat the clock, skip ahead, level up, and play to win. Twist and Turns is a fantastical celebration of games of all kinds. Classes are available for preschool through youth. Those wanting more information may call 870-544-2364.
The Clay County Cattlemen’s Association regular meeting will be held at 6:30 p.m. this Thursday, June 15, at Cajun Dave’s in Piggott. Guest speakers will be Kelley Washburn and the meal will be provided by Nutrien Ag Solutions.
