Deputy Johnny R. Fry graduates from Black River Technical College Law Enforcement Academy Deputy Johnny R. Fry of the Clay County Sheriff’s Office was one of 45 officers who successfully completed Basic Police Training Course 2023-A at the Black River Technical College Law Enforcement Training Academy in Pocahontas, Arkansas.
The Piggott Mohawk Band Boosters will present the 2023 Mohawk Pageant on Saturday, April 29, at 9 a.m. at the Piggott High School middle gym.
Williams Baptist University will confer diplomas to 135 graduates during the 2023 commencement ceremony, Saturday, May 6. The event begins at 10 a.m.
The University of Central Arkansas at Conway will hold spring commencement Friday, May 5, and Saturday, May 6, 2023, in the Farris Center on campus. The times for the ceremonies are as follows: Graduate ceremony, 7 p.m. Friday, May 5. Undergraduate ceremonies, 4 p.m. Friday, May 5 and 9 a.m., noon and 3 p.m. on Saturday, May 6.
Liberty Hill Cemetery will host its annual decoration day on Saturday, May 6. A business meeting will start at 11 a.m. with a potluck dinner following at noon. 4-H The Piggott 4-H Livestock team is currently hosting a You’ve Been “Budded” fundraiser through May 30. You can help support the club by “budding” a friend, family, business, or neighbor for $25.
Black River Technical College is pleased to announce the Spring 2023 Respiratory Care Graduation and Pinning will be held on April 27. The ceremony will be held at 6:30 p.m.
April is National Poetry Month, Humor Month, and Autism Awareness Month. The following are events at the Piggott Public Library.
An Architecture Watercolor Class entitled “No straight lines required” will be held at the Hemingway-Pfeiffer Museum and Educational Center from 10 a.m. until 11:30 a.m. Saturday, April 22 with instructor Milo Stephens. Participants are encouraged to bring a photo of any building they would like to use in creating a fun watercolor. The event is $35 per person with attendees bringing their own supplies.
