Bishop to perform at Ford Room

The opportunity to experience a room filled with the sound of a distinctive voice in various genres of music belongs to anyone with a $10 ticket to the Ford Room performance at Rector Community Museum. Vicki Bishop’s voice resonates as one people want to hear over and over again. Formally trained, Bishop won the hearts of Northeast Arkansas with her performance vocal biography of Patsy Cline. Bishop’s repertoire ranges far beyond the singular torch song, the songs about “the one that got away, and the one who will never be replaced.” To box Bishop into Patsy is to stifle her performance. Pesticide Applicator Training planned Feb. 20 in Piggott

The Clay County Extension Service is offering its annual pesticide applicator training at 6 p.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 20, at the Extension office located at 148 East Main in Piggott. The training is required for agriculture producers to qualify for license to purchase restricted pesticides. The class costs $20 and those interested must be present for the entire training session to be certified for a license for the Arkansas State Plant Board. The course can also be completed online at https://courses.uada.edu/. Those wanting additional information may contact the Extension office in Piggott at (870) 598-2246.

PHS marks homecoming

On Friday, Jan. 26, the 2024 Mohawk Basketball Homecoming Royalty was introduced prior to the contest with the Harrisburg Hornets. Afterward the Tribe had an exciting game against the Hornets which unfortunately ended in a loss for the Mohawks.
