Jeremy Lemmons, a Piggott native and 2005 PHS graduate was recently selected for The Alliance 40 Under 40 Honorees in Organ Donation and Transplantation – a national recognition that honors rising professionals who are making meaningful contributions in this field.

Full day of fun awaits at Pollard Picnic

Registrations are still being accepted for the Pollard Beauty Contests, being held in conjunction with this week’s annual picnic. The 2025 Pollard Picnic will be held Saturday, July 12, at Pollard and will benefit the continued upkeep of the New Hope Cemetery. In keeping with tradition, fried chicken dinners, music, softball games, games for children and beauty pageants will highlight the picnic. Recently, the organizers announced the following schedule.

VBS continues through July 16 at New Hope Baptist Church

New Hope Baptist Church in Pollard invites all kids to their VBS which kicked-off on Wednesday, June 4. Those attending will enjoy a night of worship, free food, games, and a fun way to kick-off the summer with vacation bible school. Vacation Bible School will continue each Wednesday night through July 16. Those attending will be served a meal at 5:30 p.m. with VBS to follow. This year’s theme is “Magnified!” as those attending will discover the bigness of God in the smallest of things.
