The application deadline for the one-year certificate Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN)/Practical Nurse (PN) programs at Three Rivers College in Poplar Bluff and Sikeston is Monday, Nov. 27, with classes beginning in January.
The University of Central Arkansas, in partnership with the city of Conway and Conway Regional Airport, will start the new UCA Aviation Academy that will result in private and commercial aviation training, ratings and licensure in spring 2024.

POCAHONTA, AR Black River Technical College (BRTC), in partnership with Arkansas Northeastern College, will offer its first Arkansas Steelmaking Bootcamp beginning Nov. 27 and running through Dec. 8 on the BRTC Paragould campus.
Arkansas Blue Cross and Blue Shield provided $2,500 in funding to 75 Arkansas schools to create calming rooms to help with the mental well-being of students. Piggott was one of the chosen schools to receive the funds. The calming rooms will be a space to help students dealing with anxiety and depression. The room will have tranquil colors, soft lighting and comfortable furniture. Sensory objects such as journals and adult coloring books will be provided as well as positive and inspirational messages.
The filing period for candidates in the upcoming March election has ended and these are the candidates for the Piggott and Corning School Boards, Clay County Justice of the Peace and Clay County Constables.
