Daylight Savings Time to end

Daylight Savings Time is scheduled to end this weekend, as the country is set to “ fall back” for 2023. Everyone is reminded to set their clocks back one hour Saturday night, as Central Standard Time will resume at 2 a. m. on Sunday, Nov. 5.

UAW retirees to meet in Paragould

United Auto Workers retirees will meet at 11: 30 a. m. Thursday, Nov. 9, at Grecian Steak House, 210 Airport Road, in Paragould. Service representatives from the Retiree Medical Benefit Trust, United Health Care, Blue Cross- Blue Shield, Davis Vision, Delta Dental, TruHearing, and OptumRX will be the guest speakers to discuss the changes in health insurance for 2024. All are urged to attend.

Clay County Sheriff ’s Department makes arrest

On Saturday, Oct. 21, 2023, at approximately 8:19 p.m. the Clay County Sheriff’s Department received a 911 call about a vehicle being ran off the road at the St. Francis River bridge on Hwy. 90 going toward Kennett, Mo. The department also received a description of the vehicle that had apparently run the vehicle off the road. At approximately 8:42 p.m. the Piggott Police Department stopped a vehicle that matched the description. The vehicle was occupied by one adult driver and three juveniles. After talking to those occupants, the deputy learned that some type of altercation between the occupants of both vehicles had started in Kennett and had continued into Clay County.
