Daylight Savings Time to end

Daylight Savings Time is scheduled to end this weekend, as the country is set to “ fall back” for 2023. Everyone is reminded to set their clocks back one hour Saturday night, as Central Standard Time will resume at 2 a. m. on Sunday, Nov. 5.

PCH receives Community Outreach Award

Piggott Community Hospital was recently awarded the Community Outreach Award at the annual ARSAVES/ IDHI Conference held in Hot Springs. The conference is designated to provide the latest evidence-based practice recommendations for the treatment of acute ischemic stroke, how to utilize digital health in the treatment of stroke, and to educate the public on recognizing signs and symptoms of stroke.

QC addresses easement issue

The Clay County Quorum Court met in regular session on Monday, Oct. 16 at the courthouse in Corning with Justices Dennis Haines, Patrick Patterson, David Hatcher, Jody Henderson, George Lowe, Randy Kingston and Brad Green present. Justices David Cagle and Neal Smith were absent.

Rep. Jeremy Wooldridge presented 2023 Statesman Award

LITTLE ROCK,AR – On Tuesday, Oct. 17, Family Council Action Committee presented Representative Jeremy Wooldridge (RMarmaduke), with the group’s 2023 Statesman Award. Representative Wooldridge received the award for earning an A on the 2023 Family Council Action Committee legislative report card. Recipients of this award are recognized for their votes during the 94th General Assembly on the 25 bills scored in the report card. Erin Hogan of Family Council Action Committee presented the award to Representative Wooldridge at the Arkansas Capitol Building on Tuesday. “Legislators cast hundreds of votes at the State Capitol,” said Hogan, “and their hard work, good votes, and dedi-cation to Christian family values often go unseen. We selected votes on key bills based on our core belief in promoting, protecting, and strengthening traditional family values. Representative Wooldridge’s votes on those bills reflect those values. That is why we are pleased to present Representative Jeremy Wooldridge with the 2023 Statesman Award.”
