PHS class of 1965 reunion slated
The Piggott High School class of 1965 will hold a 60th class reunion from 4 to 7 p.m. on Thursday, July 3 at the Piggott Diner. All classmates are encouraged to attend. For additional information, contact Bill Veal at 870-324-0411.
Piggott Fourth of July pageant schedule announced
Pageants for all age groups are planned in conjunction with the upcoming Piggott Fourth of July Picnic and Homecoming. As they have in recent years, organizers will host the first four pageants the evening of Thursday, July 3, with the remainder held on Friday, July 4.
Haywood named to Ole Miss’s Chancellor’s Honor Roll
Landon Haywood, of Rector, was named to the University of Mississippi’s Spring 2025 Honor Roll lists.
Piggott and Rector Schools continue Summer Feeding program
Once again this year, both the Piggott and Rector School Districts are taking part in the USDA Summer Feeding program. Under the federally-funded effort, all those under the age of 18 are provided free meals at local schools. The meals are the same for all children regardless of family income, race, color, national origin, sex, age or disability. No registration is required for those attending.

Pollard beauty pageants planned
The annual Pollard Picnic, to benefit the New Hope Cemetery, will be held Saturday, July 12, in Pollard. As usual, this year’s picnic will include a full schedule of beauty pageants for contestants of all ages.
