The Clay County Sheriff’s Department reported at 11:12 a.m. Wednesday, May 3, a deputy was behind a pickup truck in Piggott and noticed the two males in the pickup smoking marijuana. The deputy then rolled his window down and could smell the marijuana smoke. He initiated a traffic stop on Houston Street where he made contact with the driver Jayden Warbritton of Rector, 48-year-old Billy Franklin of Holcomb, Mo., 39-year old Terry Warbritton of Kennett, Mo., and Dennis Lane of Farmington, Mo. While making contact with the subjects Terry Warbritton fled on foot and proceeded south on Houston. The deputy chased the subject down Houston, across the Piggott Cemetery into the woods. The deputy caught the subject at Brad Wright’s body shop on Madison Street. Terry Warbritton was arrested, released and transported by ambulance to the Piggott Community Hospital. It was learned that Warbritton had a parole violation warrant out of Missouri. The other subjects were arrested and released. The CCSD was assisted by the Piggott PD.
