RDC to host Spring Marketplace April 22
Rector Downtown Central will host a Spring Marketplace from 9 a.m. until 1 p.m. Saturday, April 22, at Rec-tor Downtown Park. Approximately 20 local vendors will offer their wares for a spring shopping day. A special treat will be the opportunity to meet Buck, the sweet little kangaroo of A&J Farms.

Arkansas Municipal League hires Dixon as field rep

Arkansas author visits Rector history students
Arkansas author, Aubrey Glen Mobley, visited Mrs. Bridgette Branson’s eighth grade Arkansas history students after they read a historical fiction book that the author, Branson’s grandfather, wrote about DeSoto’s trek through the southeastern United States into Arkansas.

April happenings at the Piggott Public Library
April is National Poetry Month, Humor Month, and Autism Awareness Month. April 13 from 3:30 to 5 p.m.

Cory Jackson headlines at Ford Room with special meet and greet opportunity
Ford Room favorite performer and Arkansas CMA Country Artist of the Year 2018 Cory Jackson returns on April 20 for a spectacular event inside the Rector Community Museum located on Main Street in Rector. Appearing throughout the state, Cory’s schedule has kept him moving, this concert having been on the books for a year. Because of his immense popularity, Cory’s appearance will be highlighted with a new feature, a “Meet and Greet” opportunity for reserve seat ticket holders.

Rector FBLA attends state conference
Rector High School FBLA state qualifiers attended the State Leadership Conference last week held in Little Rock. During the conference students were able to compete against other from all over the state of Arkansas, network, attend leadership workshops, and hear from a motivational speaker, Dr.

Art on the Ridge Held Saturday on Piggott Square
The weather was perfect for the second Saturday of the month Art on the Ridge held in Piggott on Saturday, April 8. A drop in reception honoring the artwork of Carolyn Caldwell was a tremendous success as people came by to view her exhibitions. Caldwell’s exhibit will be on display at Blue Awning Gallery throughout the month of April. The duo Jordan and Jett entertained with some great music and a Faberge egg competition was also held with a vast assortment of designs.
