BRTC Foundation receives $12,500 HAAS grant for Machine Tool Technology program

The Black River Technical College Foundation(BRTC) has received a $12,500 education grant from the Gene HAAS Foundation that will go to the Machine Tool Technology program. The Gene HAAS grant money will go toward student tuition, NIMS testing, and student memberships in SkillsUSA, said Machine Tool Technology Instructor Rick Barker.

PIGGOTT KINDERGARTEN CELEBRATES 100 DAYS OF SCHOOL

On Thursday, Jan. 26, Piggott kindergarteners celebrated their 100th day of school by dressing up and having a parade through the halls of the elementary school. The students and teachers had a blast as they paraded down the hall dressed up like they were 100 years old. Johnson begins role as senate Majority Leader

Senator Blake Johnson (RCorning), who represents District 21, began his role as Senate Majority Leader as the 2023 Arkansas General Assembly began the second week of January. In an interview with the Clay County Times-Democrat, Johnson said the role of the Majority Leader is to lead the senate caucus of the majority party, to help develop policy and to help keep the caucus unified in order to help members pass and develop good policy.
