General Election results
Over 50 percent registered voters in Clay County cast ballots in last week’s general election. According to the numbers released by the Clay County Clerk’s office, a total of 3,992 of the 7,766 registered voters cast a ballot- although these results are still unofficial.
Craft Fair set Saturday in Rector
“All the booths are filled,” reported Community Center Director Linda Robinson, when speaking of the Rector Crafts Fair to be held Nov. 19, with breakfast being served in the dining room for early birds. No charge for admission, but shoppers may buy tickets for a door prize.

Rector School Board hears proposal changes to handbook
Rector School Board met in regular and executive sessions on Monday, Nov 14, at the Administration Building with a complete board in attendance. In the report from High School Principal Nate Henderson, the success of the Cougar Pride initiative was discussed.

Kinders set to perform at Ford Room
The kids came home singing and swaying, telling of the fun they had at the program either at the Rector Public Library or Rector Elementary School. “It was so much fun,” they said. Secretly, you wished to return to that kind of innocent fun. You know, the times when you learned everything you ever needed to know in kindergarten.

Piggott Area Chamber of Commerce announces annual Christmas Fest
Plans are complete, as the Piggott Area Chamber of Commerce is scheduled to host their annual Christmas Fest on Saturday, Dec. 3. Activities are slated from noon to 4:30 p.m. on the square in downtown Piggott, followed by the annual Christmas Parade at 5 p.m.
