This program focuses on giving children the best quality care by promoting early childhood education in communities. Sparklight to open fall 2022 applications for Charitable Giving Fund
Sparklight, along with the other Cable One family of brands, will open fall 2022 applications for the company’s Charitable Giving Fund, which annually awards nearly $250,000 in grants to 501(c)(3) nonprofit organizations, from Oct. 1, 2022 through Oct. 31, 2022.

Piggott students participate in simulator program
Piggott students in Casey Simpson’s ag class were able to get a firsthand experience Friday, Oct. 7, with Farm Bureau’s Ag Tech Simulator. The three simulators located in the trailer included a medium hydraulic excavator, log loader, feller buncher and combine. Skills loading or unloading from a low boy, loading logs, and digging trench are a few of the skills learned from this.

Pig-gott Smoked BBQ Cook-Off set for Saturday
Early fall will bring with it a new event to the Clay County Fairgrounds in Piggott, as the first ever Piggott Smoked BBQ Cook-Off is set for Saturday, Oct. 15. Presented by the Piggott Area Chamber of Commerce, over two dozen teams are slated to compete for cash and trophies— not to mention bragging rights. The day will also include live music, a cornhole tournament, bouncy houses for the kids, vendors and prizes as the sweet smell of barbecue will fill the air. Everyone is invited to attend.
WBU to present ‘You Can’t Take It With You’
The Williams Baptist University Theatre department will open its 2022-23 season with a production of “You Can’t Take It With You” Oct. 28-29 in Startup Chapel as part of the 2022 Homecoming celebration.
