Annual Nimmons Old Timers Dinner to be held Sept. 4

Organizers of the annual Nimmons Old Timers Dinner are happy to announce the dinner will once again take place. This year’s dinner will be held beginning at noon on Sunday, Sept. 4, at the community center. Current, and former, residents of the Nimmons area are invited to attend, and bring a dish for the potluck meal. They’ll also be accepting donations at the door, with the proceeds going toward the continued upkeep of the Nimmons Cemetery.

Internal Medicine Specialist Dr. Veronica Easton joins St. Bernards Clopton Clinic

St. Bernards Healthcare announced Friday, Aug 12, that Internal Medicine Specialist and Jonesboro native Veronica Easton, M.D. has joined the St. Bernards Clopton Clinic medical team. Dr. Easton arrives at St. Bernards after completing a Palliative Care Fellowship with the University of Tennessee Health Science Center (UTHSC) in Memphis.

The book signing scheduled at Hemingway-Pfeiffer Museum and Education Center was inadvertently noted as being held on Aug. 8. The correct date for the signing by author Fay Smalling Guinn is Saturday, Aug. 27 at 1 p.m. at the education center.

Internal Medicine Specialist Dr. Amanda Sale joins St. Bernards Clopton Clinic

St. Bernards Healthcare announced Friday, Aug. 12, that Internal Medicine Specialist and Jonesboro native Amanda Sale, M.D. has joined the St. Bernards Clopton Clinic medical team. Dr. Sale stays with St. Bernards after graduating this summer from the organization’s Internal Medicine Residency Program (IMRP). A native of Piggott, Dr. Sale obtained her bachelor’s and master’s degrees from Arkansas State University. She then completed a Master’s of Business Administration in Healthcare Management before earning her Doctor of Medicine (M.D.) in 2019 fromAmerican University of Integrative Sciences in Barbados. She now joins a team of more than 20 multi-specialty healthcare providers started by the late Dr. Owen Clopton nearly 60 years ago.
