TREE ID PROGRAM HELD AT HPMEC

The Arkansas State University Hemingway-Pfeiffer Museum and Educational Center and the University of Arkansas partnered on a Tree ID program for the museum. Dr. Vic Ford and his team: Allsion Howell, Stewart Brunswick, Rae Dawson, Jerry Clemons, and Andy Vangilder assisted Director Shannon Williams with the program. Select trees were chosen to age and identify on the grounds. The trees ranged from 60 - 150 years of age. The trees will be a part of an outdoor exhibit. Baker retires from Clay County Extension Service

After working at the Clay County Extension Office for 18 years, FCS agent Debbie Baker has retired. A surprise retirement celebration was held Wednesday, June 8 at the Piggott First Baptist Church.. A slideshow of Baker was shown while the attendees enjoyed the delicious meal provided. The venue was beautifully decorated as family, friends and co-workers, past and present, were on hand to congratulate her. Early voting underway

Early voting in the runoff election for the Piggott School Board position is underway. Voters may cast their early votes at the Piggott Community Center from 8 a.m. until 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday and on Monday June 20. Election day is Tuesday, June 21, and the polls will be open from 7:30 a.m. until 7:30 p.m. with voting at the Piggott Community Center.
