New Hope Baptist Church in Pollard is hosting Vacation Bible School beginning today, Wednesday, June 15, and will continue each Wednesday night through July 20. Those attending will be served a meal at 5:30 p.m. with VBS being held from 6 to 8 p.m. This year’s theme is “Spark Studios” as those attending will have their imagination ignited and creativity awakened. Classes are available for preschool through youth. Black River Area Develo p m e n t Corporation Board of Directors meeting will be held at 12 noon, Tuesday, June 21, 2022, at BRAD Central Office, 1403 Hospital Drive in Pocahontas. The meeting will also be held virtually.

The Chancellor’s List and Dean’s List for the spring 2022 semester at Arkansas State University have been announced. The lists recognize undergraduate students who achieved the highest grade-point averages while enrolled in a minimum of 12 credit hours of study.

Powhatan Historic State Park will host two canning workshop from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturday, July 2 and July 9. The cost of the workshop is $20 and reservations are required. Those taking part will learn the process and history of canning foods, and pick up some tips as well. Applications to BRTC’s Practical Nursing Evening Program are now open. This is a ten and a half month program that will begin on August 15, 2022 and end on June 30, 2023. The program will be held on the Pocahontas campus Monday-Friday.

Three Rivers College is announcing that students registered for Fall classes by June 30 will be the first group reviewed for Three Rivers Endowment Trust scholarship eligibility for the 2022-2023 school year. This priority scholarship deadline is to help ensure that funds are available for scholarship recipients at the very beginning of the semester.
