Annual Piggott car show held

A large turnout of both entries and spectators turned out Saturday for the 23rd edition of the Piggott Heritage Car Show. Activities kicked-off Friday with the traditional chicken wing dinner served to participants at the First National Bank pavilion, with the majority of those who arrived early taking advantage of the fare courtesy of FNB.

RHS students to attend Boys and Girls State

Four Rector High School students are honored to be recommended and selected as an Arkansas Boys and Girls State delegate. This year’s selected delegates are: Kaley Isom, daughter of Sam and Mandy Isom, and Isabella Mosley, daughter of David and Christina Mosley, for Arkansas Girls State. Landon Haywood, son of Chris and Shannon Haywood, and Evan Holmes, son of Chad and Christin Holmes, for Arkansas Boys State.

PHS GRAD TRIBUTE

The 2022 PHS graduation ceremony took a solemn turn as the three empty chairs behind the graduates were recognized. Principal Paul Seegraves called out the names of the three young men of the Class of 2022 who were called home before they graduated. A moment of silence was held for Matthew Brown, Gabe Templeman and Hunter Midkiff. Their families were presented roses and their diplomas after the graduation ceremony. (TD photo/Gayla Johnson)
